Stop talking and go make it happen.

So much of success is just taking an idea and making it happen.  I am amazed at how many great ideas I hear from people over and over again, year after year, but with little to no execution on their part.  And then years later you hear them say, "You know I had that idea years ago." Success comes from doing not talking.

The other day I was reading about a billionaire in Canada that started a small newspaper about 30 years ago.  His idea was pretty simple and probably not all that original, but he went out and made it happen. He turned "auto trader" into a billion dollar enterprise (yes, the free paper sitting in the doorway of your local supermarket selling junky cars.) 

I am amazed at the recent success of Apple and its Ipad. Absolutely nothing in the Ipad is new.  But what Apple brings to the table is great packaging, great marketing and a huge following. Apple takes ideas and executes on them quickly. That what makes Apple great. 

At Signature Community, we go out every day in this difficult real estate environment and try new things.  Some things work like our Signature Residents Work Program, which has allowed more than 30 families throughout the country to stay in their homes after a job loss.  Our aggressive renewal efforts, that have secured our resident base for next year and shown that more than 75% of our residents like it here at Signature Community because they are staying with us. 

What makes Signature Community different and more successful than our competitors? Instead of talking about change we go out and make it happen.  It's as simple as, you can either talk about something or you can do something. To my knowledge no one ever accomplished anything by just talking about it.  It's the doing that counts.
